Drugs of Abuse

Course overview

This comprehensive training is designed to provide the counselor with a broad base of knowledge specific to common drugs of abuse and misuse. Categories of various agents, both illicit and over-the-counter, will be presented in detail, including cocaine, hallucinogens, inhalants, opiates, PCP, rohypnol, ketamine hydrochloride, and others. Modes of use, mechanisms for action, and risks with use, are presented for each drug.
