Skintegrity: Advanced Physiology of the Skin

Course overview

This course will discuss the physiology of the skin including the composition of the different layers of the skin and how each of the function together. The effects of aging of the skin due to intrinsic and extrinsic factors will be explored. Discussion will also include how the skin changes from infancy through the geriatric years. Although the intrinsic changes to skin during the aging process cannot be stopped altogether, there are things that can be done to maintain skin health during the aging process
