Adult Ambulation and Mobility for Occupational Therapy

Course overview

Many clients are accustomed to an active lifestyle, so they become frustrated when they cannot move around or engage in occupations in ways they did before an illness or injury, or like they did when they were younger. Occupational therapists understand this frustration, so they help clients, caregivers, and family members understand and apply safe ambulation techniques. Some clients need help with their basic needs because they don’t have the ability to take care of it themselves; helping them safely transfer from one place to another is equally as important as ambulation. This course discusses how occupational therapists can better understand these concerns, so they can, in turn, educate clients and caregivers on adult ambulation and mobility.
