Course overview
The novel coronavirus that causes Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has created a global public health emergency. As of April 26, 2020, in the United States alone, COVID-19 has affected over 957,000 individuals, and has contributed to over 53,000 deaths. Information regarding COVID-19, including treatment guidelines, is ever-changing and evolving daily. Nurses and many other healthcare providers are working on the front lines caring for individuals with COVID-19, and must be well educated regarding best practices surrounding the identification, treatment, and management of COVID-19. This program provides an overview of COVID-19, including history, risk factors, transmission, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment/management guidelines.
