Course overview

This education program provides information about practical strategies to enhance professional communication and improve team functioning in the actual work setting. The target audience for this education program is nurses who want to: 1) enhance their ability to communicate effectively in order to advocate for patients, families, and themselves; and 2) improve their teambuilding skills. --Purpose Statement: Errors in health care cost millions of dollars each year as well as countless loss of life. Good and clear communication is a key to the prevention of medical errors and helping to ensure a healthy work environment. This course focuses on practical strategies to the improvement of both verbal and non-verbal communication.
