Learner Objectives: As a result of having attended the meeting, the participants should have had the opportunity to: 1. Discuss the challenges of conducting clinical trials evaluating the efficacy of HBO2 for mild traumatic brain injury in military Service Members. 2. Review the literature and the evidence from RCTs evaluating the efficacy of HBO2 for mild traumatic brain injury. 3. Discuss and review the lessons learned from the DoD experience and timeline of the release of data form the BIMA trial. 4. Identify key wound care principles and practice from an Advanced Practice perspective and understand the importance of a “first glance” wound assessment. 5. Describe the MD/NP collaboration within a Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine service. 6. Describe the role of the Nurse Practitioner in meeting patient care goals. 7. Define critical limb ischemia (CLI) 8. Identify people at risk for developing CLI 9. Understand morbidity and mortality associated with CLI 10. Understand current endovascular options for limb salvage 11. Help you to see that total contact Orthotic & Prosthetic Devices are critical for your success 12. Understand that angiogenic responses are much more complex process than previously assumed (not just “on” or “off”) 13. Understand that oxygen sensing (hypoxia / hyperoxia) in angiogenesis defends microvascular homeostasis. Understand that regenerative changes can be promoted by hyperbaric interventions.
