Educational Level: Intermediate Prerequisites: None Course Goals and Objectives: At the completion of this course, participants should be able to: 1.Recognize the applied anatomy for the head and face 2.Differentiate between cranial nerves and how to test them 3.Identify the acute and late signs and symptoms of concussions 4.Recognize balance testing errors when using the SCAT3 5.Identify the Child-SCAT3 "Return to School" guidelines 6.Differentiate between the location and usual causes of headaches 7.Identify common non-visual eye symptoms and disease states 8.Recognize Return-to-Play guidelines following head injury 9.Differentiate between the actions of the muscles of the face 10.Identify special tests of the ear 11.Recognize the head and neck reflexes and cutaneous distribution 12.Identify the applied anatomy of the temporomandibular joint 13.Differentiate between stages of temporomandibular disc dysfunction 14.Recognize types of "bites" 15.Recognize normal end feels at the temporomandibular joints 16.Identify muscles of the temporomandibular joint: their actions and nerve supply 17.Identify the temporomandibular muscles and their referral of pain 18.Recognize the advantages of diagnostic imaging in TMJ diagnosis Criteria for Obtaining Continuing Education Credits: A score of 70% or greater on the post-test
