Massage Therapy for Parkinson's & Alzheimer's Disease (WMC)

Course overview

Parkinson's disease affects about 1.5 million people in the US. Alzheimer's disease is even more common, affecting over 5 million people in the US, and 10 percent of those over 60. If you work with an older population, it's likely you'll encounter these disorders. In this class, we'll examine the recent research into massage for people who live with these diseases. You'll discover how to apply that information to our clients' benefit and will find out how massage therapists can help fill in some of the research gaps for these populations.
