Discusses the demands on emergency medical service personnel regarding repeat 911 callers, or frequent fliers, points out the possibility of EMS personnel becoming insensitive to people who have a history of repeated “questionable” 911 calls, such as victims of rape, the elderly, frequently ill or disturbed people who may misuse the emergency system; points out resources that could assist frequent fliers, the importance of education for patients about such services, as well as educating patients on proper medication use and other possible means of transportation to medical facilities, and the requirement and responsibility to treat people encountered on calls with respect, and to provide timely, efficient medical services.
