Course overview

Healthcare associated infections (HAIs) are responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of patients and cost the United States healthcare system billions of dollars annually (health.gov, 2017). It is imperative that nurses take an active role in the prevention of such infections. The purpose of this education program is to help nurses intervene in the best interests of the patients to protect them from HAIs. Learning Objectives 1. Discuss the impact of HAIs. 2.
