Course overview

Target Audience: The target audience for this education program is nurse managers who want to deal more effectively with staff members who display aggressive behaviors. Such people are sometimes referred to as “queens”, “kings”, or “princesses”. Course Overview: In a predominantly female workplace, anger, powerlessness, frustration, and feelings of disrespect often exist. These conditions encourage the emergence of especially aggressive behaviors and, ultimately, the development of an especially toxic workplace. This education program offers tips for managing the overt and covert operations of workplace toxic behaviors. Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to: 1. Identify toxic behaviors in the practice setting. 2. Describe ways to dethrone workplace queens. 3. Implement strategies for managing a toxic practice setting.
