Recognizing Impairment in the Workplace The purpose of this course is to help nurses in the state of Florida identify and support colleagues who may be afflicted with workplace impairment. This course is applicable for the following professions: Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), Registered Nurse (RN) Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and other clinical staff. Course Objectives 1.Identify the signs of impairment in the workplace 2.List employer initiatives to promote safety and provide assistance 3.List steps to make a report or referral of an impaired nurse 4.Discuss the mandatory reporting law 5.Discuss treatment programs for impaired practitioners
