The theory of the Nine Continents is one of the oldest philosophical concepts in Chinese mythology, dating back to the times of the biblical great flood (2300 B.C.) The medical application of this system is described in chapter 20 of the Nei Jing: "Determining Life and Death". In it the human body is divided into three regions, or Dantian, each further divided into three categories of Heaven, Earth and Mankind These "nine continents" are the first and most fundamental description of human embryology and physiology in the medical texts and are the basis for the diagnosis and treatment of congenital weakness, or Jing deficiency, in patients The lecture will focus on the nine continents theory and practical application in clinic, including methods of diagnosis, unique treatment strategies, "secret" point combinations and examples of treatment Objectives: 1.Participants will understand the history and theory of the nine continents 2.Participants will learn unique methods of diagnosis 3.Participants will learn specific point combinations for treatment
