The goal of this module is to provide the learner with an overview of the neonate’s cardiovascular system. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to: · Discuss normal transitions to extrauterine life that occur at the time of delivery · Review normal and abnormal cardiovascular assessment findings · Identify 4 cardiac dysrhythmias commonly seen in the early neonatal period · Describe 3 of the more common congenital heart defects (cyanotic and acyanotic) · Discuss cardiac surgery options for the neonate
