The goal of this module is to provide the learner with an overview of the neonate’s pulmonary system. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to: Discuss normal transitions to extrauterine life and the role of surfactant Review normal and abnormal respiratory assessment findings Identify at least 3 common physical defects that can affect respirations and approaches to management Describe at least 3 common respiratory disorders and management tactics Identify strategies for oxygenation and ventilation
