Course overview

Dietary team members each play critical roles in addressing the nutritional deficits of older residents. While every team member contributes their own level of expertise, their seamless teamwork further benefits each patient to achieve greater outcomes. This course empowers each team member with information to achieve goals at multiple levels. Topics covered rage from compliance with federal regulations and assuring person-centered care, to decreasing unnecessary costs by addressing the unique nutritional needs. When the respective nutritional/dietary team goals are met, residents then benefit Increased quality of life, to include the ability to participate in activities of choice, increased effectiveness of medications, increased hydration, increased resistance to infections & diseases and to their unique person centered goals being met.
