Course overview

Objectives 1. Understand the prevalence and impact of heart failure in the United States. 2. Briefly describe the pathophysiology and etiology of heart failure. 3. Become familiar with the common symptoms associated with systolic heart failure. 4. Be able to classify heart failure patients using standardized staging tools. 5. Identify the common pharmacologic therapies utilized and describe their role in heart failure treatment.
