The goal of this module is to provide nurses with information about the diagnosis and treatment strategies for acute stress disorder (ASD) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). On completion of this module, the learner will be able to: Define trauma Describe one difference between acute stress disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder Identify two treatments for posttraumatic stress disorder Identify two nursing interventions for patients with PTSD Discuss an intervention for families of patients with PTSD
