Course overview
This research-based course presents seven principles of substance abuse prevention for early childhood. Risk and protective factors are discussed, as well as the importance of intervening in early childhood. A discussion of research-based early intervention substance abuse prevention programs includes universal, selective, and tiered programs, divided by the age group for whom they are most effective.
