It has been argued that communication is essential to health care. It has also been argued that effective communication can promote safe and effective health care, reduce medical errors, and optimize patient care. Therefore, health care professionals should work to improve communication within their health care organizations. This course reviews key strategies health care professionals can use to improve communication within their health care organization. This course also highlights the application of effective communication to patient care.
