Course overview

Cognitive dysfunction after acquired brain injury can cover a wide spectrum of deficits and severity levels. As a result, comprehensive and effective treatment of cognitive-linguistic deficits can be challenging. In order to provide optimal care and promote functional cognitive-linguistic improvements, clinicians must have the analytical skills to determine the best evidenced-based interventions to use for their clients with neurological injuries. In addition, it is important for clinicians to have knowledge of treatment strategies and how to best train patients to use compensatory strategies to maximize their cognitive-linguistic functioning.
