Course overview
This course examines issues pertaining to women in recovery groups. The first article tests the efficacy of the Women's Recovery Group (WRG) vs mixed gender groups. The second article test 12-step groups vs secular recoups including SMART, WGS, and LifeRing for treating addiction. We generally had better outcomes in single gender groups. Secular groups are a viable alternative to 12-step groups, however groups largely vary on recovery goals.
