Upon completion of this program, the participant will 1. describe at least two concerns leading to the passage of the Nursing Home Reform Act 2. name and describe at least three rights listed in the Residents Bill of Rights 3. describe two types of restraints identified in the Nursing Home Reform Act 4. describe at least two risks of physical restraints 5. describe the nursing homes responsibilities regarding residents cognitive and physical function 6. provide at least two ways in which a nursing home can demonstrate respect for residents 7. describe ways in which a nursing home must safeguard a residents funds 8. describe at least one issue related to medications in nursing homes 9. describe the role of the Ombudsman.
