The goal of this module is to provide healthcare providers with information about pediatric vascular access. Upon completion of this module, the participant will be able to: Identify the major characteristics of the 5 developmental stages for pediatric patients List the veins available for peripheral IV access in a child under 18 months of age Identify the appropriate IV medications and solutions that may be infused through a peripheral midline catheter in a pediatric patient List the veins available for central venous access in a pediatric patient Define and explain intraosseous access in the pediatric patient
