Course overview

What makes an average acupuncture treatment an optimal one? A question asked by many of David Hartmann's students and the answer always revolves around the point combinations used for the treatment. Learning how best to combine the points allows practitioners to study far less points individually, because they will understand how points should be grouped together, thereby providing optimal treatment results. This course is designed to stimulate participant's thinking process about the reasons for their point combination selections via theoretical analysis, focusing on the Chinese medicine themes of Five Spirits (Wu Shen), emotions and mental well-being. Treatments (clinical pearls) will be included throughout. In Part I of this two-part series, David Hartmann, a seasoned acupuncturist with over 20 years of clinical experience, introduces acupuncture point combinations, why they matter and how they work, and how to combine acupuncture points using various TCM themes.
