Target Audience: The target audience for this education program is nurses working within the emergency department who interact daily with patients presenting with orthopedic and multi-system/shock emergencies. Course Overview: This course reviews critical assessment and interventions for victims suffering orthopedic injuries, wounds, multisystem trauma, or shock. Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to: Identify the various emergency room presentations that exist among patients presenting with orthopedic and/or multi-system/shock emergencies. Compare and contrast the various presentations among the patients presenting with orthopedic and/or multi-system/shock symptoms. Differentiate the assessment and intervention techniques among the patients presenting with orthopedic and/or multi-system/shock symptoms.
