Course overview

Abdominal Trauma Students will learn about the principles, pathology and management of the patient experiencing an abdominal trauma. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to: Discuss hollow/ solid organ injuries Review diaphragmatic and retroperitoneal injuries Describe Abdominal Compartment Syndrome Discuss the emergency management of gastrointestinal bleeds Discuss the emergency management of an abdominal obstruction or gastrointestinal rupture Review the presentation and management of pancreatitis and hepatitis
