Course overview
Students will learn about the principles, pathology and emergency management of the patient suffering from burns. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to: Discuss the anatomy and physiology of the skin Describe the similarities and differences between various types of burns, including chemical, electrical, thermal, radiological and inhalation burns Review the anatomy and pathophysiology of burns Recall the Rule of Palms and describe the correct classification of burns Discuss wound assessment and management, including fluid replacement
