Course overview
The 12-lead ECG only identifies acute MI 50% of the time. Knowledge of the role cardiac markers play in identification of acute Mis is vital to providing treatment to the goal of providing treatment to as many MI victims as possible. Cardiac markers are an important tool to identify myocardial infarctions that can be missed or need time to evolve on the 12-lead ECG, allowing us to identify, triage and give definitive treatment more quickly.
