This course provides learners with an understanding of the purpose, procedures, and limitations of evidence-based practice (EBP) in clinical decision-making applied to speech-language pathology. Participants will learn about the important role of practice-based evidence (PBE) and how it complements EBP to support management decisions for individual clients. Practical strategies and resources will be presented so that learners can implement course ideas immediately into practice. Objective Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: Define and discriminate between evidence-based practice and practice-based evidence. Identify resources to locate the best current research evidence. Describe procedures to generate clinical data to support rational clinical decisions in their own practice.
