Utilization Review: Understanding Admission Status

Course overview
In this course, we'll discuss admission to acute care hospitals. We will focus on the differences between an "observation" and "inpatient" status. Included are the utilization review requirements for facilities according to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). The criteria for both admission statuses will be explained and the two principal means of addressing the criteria presented.
