Group A Streptococcal (GAS) infections are caused by group A streptococcus, a bacterium responsible for a variety of health problems, ranging from mild strep throat and the skin infection impetigo to invasive, life-threatening conditions such as streptococcal toxic shock syndrome, necrotizing fasciitis and Fournier's gangrene. This online course will encompass the more invasive, life-threatening GAS infections.
