Goals The goal of this article is to focus on the aspects of potential pharmacologic determinants regarding antiplatelet pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and clinical outcomes in CAD Objectives Describe the process of platelet activation and aggregation Identify the two major antiplatelet agents that reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in clinical settings Describe the pathogenesis of CAD Describe the mechanism of action of GPIs Discuss the role of Aspirin and Thienopyridines in ACS Treatment Discuss the limitations of current antiplatelet therapy
