Target audience: This course is intended to educate all nurses about neurological assessment. Course overview: This course will provide the learner information about neurological assessment, including levels of consciousness, and will discuss evaluation of pain and delirium in the patient with altered level of consciousness. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Upon completion of the course, the learner will be able to: Describe and distinguish levels of consciousness related to a neurological assessment. Discuss the use of behavioral and observational (nonverbal) pain assessment tools. Identify strategies to prevent and manage delirium.
