Course overview
This course satisfies the Florida requirements for Nurses. In this course we will discuss the growing human trafficking crisis in the United States. We will explore the role of healthcare professionals in recognition of trafficking victims, including risk factors that make people prone to human trafficking. We will provide several assessment tools for identifying victims and processes to assist these victims. We will discuss reporting responsibilities for victims under the age of 18. There are recommendations for referrals to various social and legal avenues should the victim wish to change their situation.
