Course overview

ALTHOUGH CHEST INJURIES MAY CREATE SOME OF THE MOST URGENT SITUATIONS A TRAUMA TEAM CAN FACE, THEY ARE THE MOST OVERLOOKED INJURIES IN THE FIRST HOUR OF TRAUMA CARE. THE INDICATIONS OF THORACIC INJURY ARE NOT ALWAYS CLEAR AND OBVIOUS. FOR THIS REASON, THE CHEST EXAMINATION TECHNIQUES OUTLINED IN THIS COURSE ARE IMPORTANT SKILLS FOR CRITICAL CARE NURSES. CHEST TRAUMA CAN CREATE SOME OF THE MOST DIFFICULT CASES IN CRITICAL CARE, AND PROPER ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT WILL SAVE LIVES. THIS COURSE DISCUSSES CHEST WALL, PULMONARY, AND CARDIAC INJURIES IN DETAIL.
