Target audience The target audience for this education program is nurses who want to enhance their skills in evaluating chest pain. Course overview Most people associate chest pain with heart-related conditions, but in many instances, it is related to other causes. Only 30 percent of patients presenting with chest pain have a cardiac origin for the pain. This education program is written in a case study format to help nurses accurately evaluate chest pain and intervene appropriately. Learning objectives Upon completion of this course, nurses should be able to: -Explain the six key features of a health history. -Analyze case studies to identify appropriate nursing interventions. -Identify common pitfalls and assumptions when evaluating chest pain.
