What you'll learn
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Assess a patient's needs and measurements for the use of a wheelchair
- Classify the parts of a wheelchair and their functions
- Analyze a person's mobility level and posture
- Evaluate destructive postures related to wheelchair use
- Select an appropriate wheelchair based on evaluation and observational findings
- Determine candidacy for advanced wheelchair technology
- Adjust equipment in order to maximize patient safety, comfort and functionality
You will take away from this course with the knowledge and skills that are necessary for performing a complete evaluation and needs assessment of patients with mobility challenges and selecting the best wheelchair for their needs.
