Target audience This course is intended for nurses who work with peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) in any setting. Course overview As individuals enter the health-care system sicker than in the past, PICC lines are becoming more common. Understanding when a PICC line is indicated, caring for a PICC line, and clinical indications for troubleshooting a possible problem are all standard nursing care. Learning objectives After completing this course, the learner will be able to: -Identify the indications for PICC use. -Associate clinical symptoms with PICC complications. -Describe the care of a PICC throughout the duration of its use.
