Course overview

Healthcare professionals spends the most time with their patient, resident, or client, so they are much more likely to see a change in someone’s condition. These observation need to be documented and reported to the rest of the care team. This is an important skill developed by learning good observation skills, understanding when a change in condition should be reported immediately or not to a supervisor, and developing competent documentation habits. This course will teach current and future Direct Support Professionals how to observe patients, clients, and residents for changes in their condition, how to report important changes to the rest of the care team, and how to document all observations in the patient’s record.
