The goal of this article is to focus on identifying and managing patients with COPD pharmacologically according to their risk and type of exacerbation and discuss current and evolving pharmacologic strategies Objectives Discuss the role of Inflammation in the Pathogenesis of COPD Describe the role of long acting bronchodilators in management of COPD Describe how combination bronchodilation works in management of COPD Identify two combination pharmacologic agents in COPD management Describe pharmacologic therapy to prevent COPD exacerbations
