MGMT4243 - The purpose of this course is to help owners and operators of all healthcare facilities and other employers understand how to respond effectively to a serious workplace incident. Learners will be introduced to the concept of root cause as a strategy for responding to lapses in workplace safety or other serious incidents. This course covers the benefits of incident investigation and root cause analysis, immediate response to an incident, how to conduct an incident investigation, how to conduct root cause analysis using various tools and heuristic devices, how to construct an incident report, and how to implement and monitor effective corrective actions.
