Course overview

Bad habits, by their very nature, are difficult to change. But as the result of recent research that is generating improved approaches, greater patient/client preparation, and more cultural support, the rates of success is increasing, and more people can enjoy the quality of life they work so hard to achieve. Each of us, in our various professions, can be instrumental in the process. This course offers specific approaches that assist patients/clients through the five stages of habit change. It offers examples from common scenarios encountered by each profession taking this course. It emphasizes that mobility, speech, activities of daily living, dietary choices, thought patterns and more, are all automatic habitual patterns.
