Course overview

Injured workers with low back pain present multiple challenges when determining the appropriate time to return to work. (RTW) Significant workers compensation costs encourage employers to push workers to RTW early, which may result in re-injury. Workers often delay RTW due to pain, fear of injury, financial considerations, lack of preparedness and other factors. How does a clinician decide when a worker is ready to RTW? This program presents an overview of practice guidelines, examination, clinical prediction rules, and functional outcome measures to empower clinicians to make effective clinical decisions for workers with low back pain.
