Course overview
Sudden cardiac death (SCD) accounts for approximately five percent of all deaths. This program will discuss the circumstances surrounding Sudden Cardiac Death, contributing factors, and methods to reduce the risk of SCD. Sudden cardiac death is loosely defined as death occurring on or within one hour of the onset of symptoms. This program will also discuss how the EMS professional assesses a patient who has died.
