Course overview
The goal of this module is to provide nurses with information about the incidence, etiology, identification and treatment of fluid and electrolyte imbalances in the perioperative patient. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to: Identify the primary fluid compartments in the body Discuss the different types of crystalloid and colloid solutions, including uses Review the electrolytes that are useful in assessing fluid status, including assessment and management of each Discuss the importance of acid-base balance and it’s effect on the perianesthesia patient
