Course overview
The goal of this module is to provide registered nurses with information about the incidence, etiology, identification and treatment of hematology and hemostasis conditions including the care of in the perioperative patient with immunosuppression, as well as the patient undergoing ophthalmic and otorhinolaryngology procedures. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to: Identify abnormal lab values and nursing interventions Discuss hematological disorders and disorders in hemostasis and nursing interventions for each Discuss transfusions of blood, blood component and reactions including nursing responsibilities Describe care on the patient with a suppressed immune system Identify common ophthalmic surgical procedures along with preoperative and postoperative care considerations Describe perioperative considerations for care of patients with ear, nose, and throat procedures
