The goal of this human trafficking continuing education program is to provide Florida nurses and other healthcare professionals with information, tools, and resources to identify, assess, and treat human trafficking victims and to provide referral resources for legal and social services. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to: Describe the types of, risk factors for, and extent of human trafficking in the U.S., particularly Florida Discuss the role and responsibilities of nurses and the interprofessional healthcare team in the recognition, assessment, and treatment of the victim of trafficking, including management of medical records, patient safety, and referral sources Identify reporting and referral resources for victims of human trafficking
