The goal of this module is to provide pharmacists, physicians, and social workers with information regarding the classification and epidemiology of anxiety disorders along with proper pharmacological treatment options. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to: Identify the various types of anxiety disorders and their common characteristics Review various drug classes used to treat anxiety disorders Compare and contrast pharmacotherapy options for the treatment of anxiety disorders with regards to their safety, efficacy, and place in therapy Describe the pharmacist’s role in the management of anxiety disorders
