LEARNING OUTCOME The purpose of this education program is to increase the nurse’s ability to provide care for patients with diabetes mellitus. In addition to learning about the impact of diabetes, its incidence, and its prevalence, the learner will be able to differentiate among the various types of diabetes, discuss its pathophysiology, and describe the diagnostic process and treatments.
